Third Party Returns

Part XX of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 requires all third parties that incurred electoral expenditure above the disclosure threshold, to lodge financial disclosure returns on an annual basis.

These returns set out for that financial year:

  • the total amount of electoral expenditure incurred
  • the details of any donations above the disclosure threshold that the third party received, and used to incur that electoral expenditure.

Returns for financial years that ended before 1 January 2019 required third parties to break down the total electoral expenditure into five distinct categories, which are detailed on those returns.

All third party returns from the 1998-99 financial year onwards are listed.

Returns can be filtered and sorted based on:

  • Financial year
  • Third party name
  • Total electoral expenditure
  • Total gifts received

Individual returns can be accessed by clicking on the name of the third party.

All data contained in the table can also be exported to Excel. The export will reflect any sorting and filtering applied to the list.
